Green and Clean

Our barrel beautifully adorned with flowers.

Our rain barrels are fabricated in Philadelphia by local unemployed and underemployed residents looking to break into the green jobs economy.

Once you receive your barrel, try customizing and beautifying it.

Got a community based organization?
Want to get yourself and your neighbors free rain barrels?

The Energy Coordinating Agency, with generous support from the Philadelphia Water Department is looking for host sites and organizations for our free rain barrel workshops. Our program provides Philadelphia residents with a 55 gallon rain barrel installed at their home at no cost. Rain barrels collect rain water from the downspout connected to your home and stores it in the barrel as a free source of non-drinking water. In addition to providing a free source of non-drinking water for community members, it also helps reduce storm water flooding in our neighborhoods as well as reducing sewer overflows.

The workshop will consist of a short video, a PowerPoint presentation, and a question and answer period following. Note: Barrels will not be distributed at the workshop, we will be contacting you and scheduling a time for us to install the barrels for you. Generally from start to finish our workshops run one hour in length. Homeowners and tenants will be eligible to receive a rain barrel.Workshop availability is every weeknight from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm and some select Saturdays afternoons between the hours of 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

This is a great free program to offer to your communities. We have had a great response and regularly have 20+ people attending these workshops.
